The White House pointed to a statement regarding the recent Iranian threats against Trump’s life but failed to comment on the particular requests.
Sean Savitt, a spokesman for the National Security Council, stated, “We consider this a national and homeland security matter of the highest priority, and we strongly condemn Iran for these brazen threats.”
Iran has long sought retribution against Trump and his associates, according to Savitt, for the January 2020 murder of Iranian General Qasem Soleimani.
“We have made sure that the relevant agencies are promptly and continuously updating the security detail of the former president with new threats.”
Furthermore, President Biden has reaffirmed his order that the US Secret Service be provided with all the tools, capabilities, and safety precautions needed to handle the changing risks to the former president.
According to Trump’s campaign, senior American intelligence officials informed him on Tuesday over Iran’s threats to assassinate him.
With such warnings, Trump pushed Biden on Wednesday to caution Iran that it was running the risk of going to war with the United States.
At a North Carolina campaign speech, Trump declared, “As you know, there have been two assassination attempts on my life that we know of, and they may or may not involve—but possibly do—Iran.”
