The Muttahi Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) has stated that it will not have any reason to be a part of the Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif-led coalition government if any unilateral decision is made regarding the said Constitutional post, amid the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the future of Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori.
“The MQM-P controls the governor of Sindh. Tessori will continue to serve as governor, it was resolved [in negotiations] with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), according to senior MQM-P leader Farooq Sattar.
The threat from the Karachi-based party comes after a source informed News last week that the federal government led by the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPL), which controls Sindh, and the PML-N had agreed that PPL leader and former head of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Bashir Memon, will take Tessori’s position.
