Tom Brady collaborates with Abbott and the Big Ten Conference to address the US blood shortage in a “very unique” manner.

Tom Brady enjoys a good rivalry, particularly when it involves the University of Michigan, his own mater.

When it also has a significant impact on our nation, he loves it much more.

In order to address a national health issue, Brady has partnered with Abbott, a multinational provider of medical equipment and healthcare services, and the Big Ten Conference to launch the first-ever We Give Blood Drive, a national competition for blood donation involving all 18 schools in the conference.
“You can save up to three lives with every blood donation, and there is a severe blood shortage in the United States,” Brady said to News on Thursday. “I believe that to be the crucial aspect.

We sometimes overlook the tiny things that have a great influence, and this is one of them.”

Because he is aware of the impact that a single donation may have, Brady said he has donated blood since his first year of high school.

Blood is needed for a wide range of causes, including cancer patients, trauma and accident victims, women experiencing difficult deliveries, and others. The fact that less and fewer people under the age of 25 are offering to donate blood makes youthful donors crucial.
