Border Incident Stops US Tour
Australian musician Keli Holiday, also known as Adam Hyde, had to end his North American tour early after he was denied entry into the United States.
He had already performed several shows in the US before traveling to Toronto, Canada. When he tried to return to New York for a scheduled performance, US border officials detained him.
Holiday said he had valid visa documents, but authorities still refused his re entry into the country. He shared that he spent hours at the border without clear answers about the decision.
He later returned to Australia while waiting for more information on the case.
Girlfriend Responds to Online Speculation
Holiday’s partner, Australian podcaster and television host Abbie Chatfield, later addressed growing online discussion around the incident.
She issued a public apology for a social media video she posted in 2025 that criticized US political figure Donald Trump.
Chatfield said the video was being misinterpreted and strongly denied that she had ever encouraged or supported violence in any form.
She also clarified that Holiday had not seen the video and should not be linked to it.
She added that no official reason had been shared for Holiday’s US entry refusal, and said online claims connecting her post to the decision were not confirmed.
Social Media Reaction and Clarification
After speculation spread online, Chatfield responded directly to clear up confusion.
She said her earlier comments were being taken out of context and stressed that people were unfairly targeting her partner.
Holiday also posted that he was still trying to understand why he was denied entry despite having proper documentation.
Broader US Travel Policy Context
The incident comes at a time when US authorities have been considering stricter entry requirements for foreign visitors, including expanded checks on social media history.
These proposed measures have raised debate among travellers and entertainment professionals who regularly tour internationally.
