Iran Responds Through Mediators
Iran confirmed that it had sent a response to the latest US proposal. Communication between Tehran and Washington is still continuing through intermediaries linked to Pakistan.
Iran’s foreign ministry said its concerns were shared with the United States. Officials also claimed that talks remain open but difficult.
Iranian media reported frustration over the lack of clear concessions from Washington. Some outlets warned that the negotiations could reach a dead end if compromise is not found.
Nuclear Demands Remain the Main Issue
The biggest disagreement continues to be Iran’s nuclear program. The United States has reportedly suggested strict limits, including allowing only one nuclear site to operate and transferring enriched uranium abroad.
Trump has indicated openness to a temporary pause of around 20 years on Iran’s nuclear activities, showing a possible shift from earlier demands for complete shutdown.
Iran, however, continues to reject conditions it sees as unfair or too restrictive.
Wider Conflict and Regional Tensions
The broader conflict remains active despite a fragile ceasefire that began earlier in the year. Occasional exchanges of fire have still been reported.
Iran also maintains control over the Strait of Hormuz, a key global shipping route responsible for a large share of oil and gas transport. Tehran says its actions are a response to ongoing military pressure.
This situation has contributed to rising global energy prices and growing concern in international markets.
