Shah Mahmood Qureshi, the senior leader of the embattled Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, has called for dialogue rather than “confrontation” and stated that the issues should be resolved through “mutual consensus” in light of the uncertainty surrounding the start of talks between the party and the current government.
“Pakistan needs political stability at this time…political stability is vital for economic stability,” the former foreign minister told reporters Thursday in Adiala Jail.
Since the party’s founder, Imran Khan, established a negotiation committee, the PTI-government conversation has been the talk of the town, and the comments come against the backdrop of the ongoing ambiguity surrounding it.
Salman Akram, Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) president Sahibzada Hamid Raza, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa president Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, and NA Opposition leader Omar Ayub Khan were on the committee.
