GUJRANWALA: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) announced on Wednesday that the bodies of four additional Pakistanis who died in the Greek boat disaster last month had been found, bringing the total to nine.
The four fatalities have been identified as Owais Ali of Sialkot, while the three deceased, Shabbir, Zain Ali, and Zeeshan, are all from Narowal.
According to the source, the bodies were moved from the Greek island of Gavdos to a hospital in Athens. The Pakistani embassy was arranging for the remains to be sent back to Pakistan, although this could take an additional week.
This comes after boats carrying more than 80 Pakistanis collapsed near Greece on the night of December 13 and 14, resulting in their drowning.
