Under the direction of Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur, the provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was dedicated to achieving Pakistan’s national objective of converting 60% of its energy from renewable sources by 2030.
In a major step toward sustainable energy, design plans for 48 small-scale hydropower plants with a combined capacity of 13 megawatts were finished last year, and construction on three hydropower projects was restarted.
A 175-kilowatt solar mini-grid has been installed at Mian Mandi Bazaar, District Mardan, according to CM spokesperson Faraz Ahmed Mughal.
Additionally, the government has already subsidized half of the cost of solarizing 130,000 households, which has cost Rs15 billion.
