ISLAMABAD: After Aamer Farooq, the chief justice, dismissed a protest by five IHC judges against the recent modifications to the seniority list, Sarfaraz Dogar, who was transferred from the Lahore High Court (LHC), has been approved to succeed him as the next chief justice of the Islamabad High Court (IHC).
After IHC Chief Justice Farooq rejected the representation filed by Justices Mohsin Akhtar Kayani, Tariq Jahangiri, Babar Sattar, Sardar Ijaz, and Saman Riffat Imtiaz, Justice Dogar became the seniormost judge among the IHC judges when he took his oath as an LHC judge in 2015. According to The News, the registrar’s office was directed to notify the five judges of the ruling.
