Despite claims to the contrary from the Trump administration, a Chinese official stated that no trade discussions had taken place with the United States.
The trade war between the two biggest economies in the world has been getting worse, and China’s most recent reprisal over tariffs was the return of Boeing aircraft that it had ordered from the US.
However, Trump’s remarks that the levies he has already placed on Chinese imports would “come down substantially, but it won’t be zero” seem to indicate that he is adjusting his position on China.
