Democrats are unsure of how to stop the White House powerhouse three months into Donald Trump’s second term.
The 2016 resistance is being resurrected by some. Others advocate “playing dead” in the hopes that Trump will lose the election.
However, a completely different approach—one that many Democrats could find unacceptable—is proposed by former Democratic Senator Joe Manchin: collaborate with the administration.
He told me this in a recent interview, one of the few he’s done since departing Congress in January:
“[Trump] is our nation’s leader. How come you wouldn’t collaborate with him? Because he belongs to a different party? Not a single vote for him? That isn’t a justification.
