Although it has once again denounced the terrorist assault in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), the United States has not commented on whether it has helped to defuse tensions between India and Pakistan.
India and Pakistan, two nuclear-armed neighbors in South Asia, launched a new conflict this week after an attack on tourists in IIOJK. New Delhi blamed Islamabad for the deaths, while Islamabad vehemently denied the accusations.
Tammy Bruce, the spokesman, stated during a press conference at the State Department: “The United States stands with India [and] strongly condemns all acts of terrorism.”
