After gunmen opened fire on a group of tourists in Pahalgam, a picturesque town in Indian Illegally Occupied Kashmir (IIOJK), killing at least 26, celebrities from both sides of the divide are expressing their sorrow and sympathy.
A significant change was made when civilians were targeted rather than Indian security forces in the bloodiest attack in 25 years.
The 65-year-old Indus Water Treaty (IWT), which divides vital water between the two neighbors, was suspended as normal in the attack, despite the fact that it has no significant tools to stop the river’s flow downstream to Pakistan.
In retaliation for India’s response to the militant attack on tourists in IIOJK, Pakistan shut down its airspace for Indian planes on Thursday and rejected New Delhi’s proposal to suspend IWT.
