Thirty runners of Pakistani and Pakistani-origin will join over 50,000 participants at the start line of the 2025 London Marathon when the sun rises over London on Sunday morning.
All eyes will be on Hamid Butt, 64, of Lahore, who has already completed all six World Marathon Majors (Tokyo, Boston, London, Berlin, Chicago, and New York) and is poised to become the first Pakistani to accomplish the coveted six-star marathon achievement twice.
With runners coming from the United States, United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates, Norway, and Saudi Arabia, the varied mix of competitors reflects Pakistan’s increasing prominence in international marathon racing.
