While acknowledging that he has the power to repatriate a guy who was wrongfully deported to El Salvador, US President Donald Trump has stated that he will not.
In March, Kilmar Ábrego García was deported from the United States. This was a mistake, according to judges all the way up to the US Supreme Court, and Trump’s team should “facilitate” his return.
Trump had previously denied that he had the authority to return Mr. Ábrego García to his Maryland home. Under pressure from an ABC News interviewer on Tuesday, he acknowledged that he “could” alter the course of events if he so desired.
Nonetheless, he maintained that Mr. Ábrego García’s deportation was justified.
