Ishaq Dar, the foreign minister and deputy prime minister, said on Saturday that he hoped to hold talks with India following a global diplomatic effort to reduce tensions between the two nuclear neighbors after Islamabad retaliated against New Delhi’s actions.
The Pakistan Army has initiated a military operation called Bunyan-um-Marsoos, which targets several Indian military locations, in retaliation for India’s unjustified strikes on Pakistani territory.
Pakistan launched its strike shortly after claiming that India had fired missiles against three air bases, including one near the capital, Islamabad, earlier on Saturday. However, the majority of the missiles were intercepted by Pakistani air defenses.
