PESHAWAR: According to sources on Friday, the opposition parties and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa administration have agreed to hold uncontested Senate elections.
The accord calls for the unopposed election of five opposition candidates and six PTI candidates.
Dr. Ibadullah, the leader of the opposition in the KP Assembly, verified the news.
Niaz Ahmad, Dilawar Khan, Rubina Khalid, Attaul Haq, and Talha Mehmood are the opposition’s nominees. The candidates of the PTI, Murad Saeed, Faisal Javed, Mirza Afridi, Noor-ul-Haq Qadri, Azam Swati, and Rubina Naz, are expected to be elected without any opposition.
In front of opposition leaders, Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur taped a video message after the last round of late-night talks in the province capital, reaffirming the agreement.
