Days after the nuclear-armed neighbors concluded their bloodiest military war in almost thirty years, India’s defense minister, Rajnath Singh, stated on Thursday that the International Atomic Energy Agency should be in charge of Pakistan’s nuclear weapons.
After India hit what it claimed were “terrorist camps” in Pakistan last week in retribution for an incident in India-held Kashmir last month that killed 26 men and was allegedly supported by Pakistan, deadly fighting broke out between the longtime foes.
Prior to their truce on Saturday, Islamabad had refuted the accusations, and in the days that followed, both nations launched drones and missiles into one another’s airspace.
