ISLAMABAD: On the first stop of his four-nation regional tour, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Istanbul, Turkey, on Sunday night. Sharif’s goal is to express gratitude to Pakistan’s friends for their support during the current stalemate with India.
When PM Shehbaz arrived at the Istanbul airport, he was greeted by Yasar Guler, the Minister of National Defense for Turkey.
In the meantime, the premier and Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan had a crucial meeting.
“During the meeting, bilateral relations, regional and international issues, including the fight against terrorism, will be discussed,” Fahrettin Altun, Erdogan’s chief of communications, had earlier stated on X.
The two leaders will also talk on extending Turkiye-Pakistan cooperation in a variety of areas, including as tourism, culture, economics, and defense.
