KARACHI: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicts that today will see a sharp increase in temperatures, with highs of 40°C. The country is now experiencing a searing heat heatwave.
Due to excessive humidity and a lack of sea air, coastal locations may seem even hotter, with temperatures as high as 45°C. Strong sunshine and little wind are predicted to occur during the day, which makes residents more uncomfortable.
According to the Met Office, westerly winds are blowing at 17 km/h at the moment, and the humidity is 74%, which adds to the oppressive heat. For the next 24 hours, the weather is expected to stay quite hot and muggy.
