The Pakistan Meteorological Department’s (PMD) Seismic Monitoring Centre stated on Tuesday that there had been sixteen mild earthquakes in Karachi since Sunday.
The most recent tremor, with a magnitude of 2.8, happened at 9:57 a.m. At a depth of 40 kilometers, the epicentre was located 15 kilometers northeast of Malir.
Earlier on Monday night, two tremors were detected at a depth of 40 kilometers close to Malir: one at midnight (2.6 magnitude) and the other at 12:23 am (2.8 magnitude).
The third shock, which had a magnitude of 3.2 and a shallower depth of 11 kilometers, happened Tuesday at 6:42 a.m. close to Korangi.
Landhi, Quaidabad, Malir, and the surrounding areas have all experienced recurrent tremors. There have been no reports of injuries or damage thus far.
