A police request for the identification parade of Umar Hayat, the main suspect in the gruesome murder of TikToker Sana Yousaf, was granted by an Islamabad district court on Wednesday. The defendant was also sent in jail after the judge issued a 14-day judicial remand order.
In response to a formal plea made by the investigating officer for the case, Duty Magistrate Ahmed Shahzad gave the ruling at a hearing at the Islamabad District Court.
The Sumbal Police Station has filed a murder charge against Umar Hayat, who was taken to the courtroom with a cloth concealing his face.
Duty Magistrate Ahmed Shahzad’s annoyance over the district prosecutor’s absence was another instance of court disapproval during the hearing.
