KARACHI: According to Chief Meteorologist Amir Haider Laghari, the number of tremors has reached 32 since June 1, and residents of the port city have been dealing with quite unusual moderate earthquakes for days.
According to Laghari, who disclosed the specifics of the earthquakes, all of them were of a moderate magnitude, with the lowest measured intensity on the Richter Scale being 1.5 and the highest being 3.6.
The official noted that the depth of the previous earthquake shakes in the city has varied from 2 kilometers to 188 kilometers, and that the most recent one was registered at 8:32 am on Friday (today) with a magnitude of 1.5.
He stated that reports of earthquakes are coming from the city’s Quaidabad, Gadap, Malir, DHA, and Korangi neighborhoods.
