A five-month-old kid from Union Council Sulemankhel in Lakki Marwat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has been proven to have contracted wild poliovirus in Pakistan once more.
In 2025, there were 19 polio cases nationwide as a result of this.
New polio case confirmed by NIH
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) reports that the presence of poliovirus in the young child has been officially confirmed by its regional laboratory. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has now recorded 12 cases this year, highlighting the region’s ongoing susceptibility to the virus.
