LONDON: The All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) was briefed on Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) by a high-level parliamentary delegation led by former Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Tuesday in Westminster.
Bilawal told them about the recent conflict between India and Pakistan, the growing instability in the region, and the mounting violations of human rights in IIOJK.
India’s recent military aggressiveness, especially its unjustified assaults on civilian areas in IIOJK and unlawful suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty, deeply alarmed the delegation. This action was against international law and directly threatened regional peace.
“The fundamental problem causing instability in the area is still the unsolved IIOJK dispute. The illegal and unilateral move taken by India on August 5, 2019, which included the repeal of Article 370 and the repression that followed.
