In an attempt to patch things up after their relationship degenerated over the last two years, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney called his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi on Friday to invite him to the next Group of Seven summit.
According to a readout from Carney’s office, the leaders decided to stay in touch and were eager to meet at the G7 summit later this month.
Although it is not a member, India is welcome to attend the G7’s annual meeting, which will take place this year from June 15–17 in Kananaskis, in the Canadian province of Alberta.
