During Soccer Aid training at Old Trafford on Thursday, Louis Tomlinson and Sam Thompson met in person for the first time since the former started seeing Sam’s ex-girlfriend, Zara McDermott.
Observers saw that both men, who play for the same England squad for Unicef, made obvious attempts to limit conversation and avoid eye contact.
But even while the Made in Chelsea star seemed calm and cheerful, Louis was once seen lingeringly glancing at Sam on the field.
The Daily Mail claims that the situation is especially delicate because of the past: Zara went public with Louis in March, and Sam and Zara broke their five-year romance earlier this year.
The newlyweds have already been spotted traveling in style to Costa Rica and Los Angeles.
