Other nations’ law enforcement cooperation with Pakistan has been scant.
Concerns regarding collaboration in white-collar crime investigations have been raised by the fact that, out of 34 requests for Mutual Legal Assistance (MLA) sent overseas in the last year, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has only gotten 13 responses.
Official documents show that NAB made formal inquiries to a number of nations, including the US and the UK. The lack of responses from these nations has seriously hampered efforts to collect evidence.
NAB made 14 informal requests for information in addition to formal MLAs, but only three of them were answered. Three suspects also received extradition requests from the agency, but none of them were successfully turned over.
