Residents in Balochistan’s Kalat area experienced a momentary fear in the early hours of Monday after a low-intensity earthquake with a Richter scale of 3.1. However, there were no immediate reports of damage or casualties.
The epicentre of the earthquake occurred eight kilometers southeast of the Kalat district, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department’s (PMD) seismic center.
Two days after a 4.9-magnitude earthquake rocked Gwadar, a coastal city in Balochistan, and its environs, Kalat felt the shaking.
The epicentre of the earthquake, according to the National Seismic Monitoring Centre, was 40 kilometers from southwest Pasni. It further stated that it was 14 kilometers deep.
Although there were no reports of damage or injuries, the earthquakes caused alarm among the locals.
