According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs officials, Pakistan agreed on Tuesday to recall some of its diplomatic personnel and their families from Iran.
The choice was made in light of the continuing dispute between Israel and Iran, which has raised questions about the security of diplomatic posts in the area.
The return of non-essential employees and family members of certain ambassadors now stationed in Iran is part of a precautionary move, according to ministry sources.
Officials have affirmed that Pakistan will maintain its diplomatic presence in Iran notwithstanding the partial pullout. A senior official declared, “Our embassy in Tehran and consulates in other cities will remain operational.”
