Former US President Donald Trump received a signed national team jersey from Portuguese football player Cristiano Ronaldo with the words “Playing for Peace” written on it as a personal note.
During the G7 Summit, which is presently taking place in Alberta, world leaders have gathered to discuss urgent global concerns, such as the continued tensions between Iran and Israel. The symbolic gesture was made during the meeting.
Former Portuguese Prime Minister António Costa, who was a special guest at the conference, gave Trump the shirt. According to reports, Costa, a longtime friend of Ronaldo, helped arrange the gift and has apparently kept up strong ties with the football player over the years.
