Pakistan has increased its efforts to repatriate its residents from Iran and Iraq as regional tensions continue to grow. The Foreign Office reports that two special aircraft from Basra to Karachi and Islamabad have successfully returned 268 Pakistani pilgrims from Iraq.
The government is actively working to ensure the safe and prompt repatriation of all Pakistani pilgrims who are currently trapped in Iraq, the Foreign Office spokeswoman acknowledged in a statement on Monday.
According to the spokeswoman, “the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is in constant coordination with authorities to ensure the secure return of our citizens.” “For up-to-date information, pilgrims are encouraged to maintain regular communication with the Pakistani Embassy in Baghdad.”
