After a poor loss to Myanmar in the Asian Cup qualifications, the Pakistan men’s national football team took yet another hit, dropping three spots to 201st in the most recent FIFA World Rankings.
With the team ranked close to the bottom of the 211 FIFA member countries, this is one of the lowest points in Pakistani football history.
Ahead of the 2026 World Cup cycle, FIFA issued the new rankings, which take into account the team’s growing on- and off-field difficulties and ongoing winless streak. Following its most recent decline, Pakistan is now the lowest-ranked footballing nation in South Asia, trailing only India (133), Bangladesh (184), Nepal (176), Afghanistan (172), Bhutan (186), and Sri Lanka (196).
