Archaeologists have discovered amazing frescoes that adorned a lavish Roman home after piecing together thousands of pieces of 2,000-year-old wall plaster.
Although the broken plaster was found in 2021 at a construction site in central London, the massive jigsaw puzzle has not yet been put back together.
The intricately painted decorations of musical instruments, birds, flowers, and fruit adorn at least 20 of the building’s walls.
The wealth of the region where they were discovered—dubbed the “Beverly Hills of Roman London” by the team—is further revealed by the artwork.
