On Monday, the National Security Committee (NSC) called Israeli aggression against Iran “regrettable” and vehemently denounced it.
Following the recent escalation between Iran and Israel, which included US military strikes on Iranian nuclear sites, the NSC convened in Islamabad under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to evaluate the changing regional landscape.
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Field Marshal Asim Munir, among other important members of the national security and intelligence establishment, were present at the meeting.
Official sources claim that the NSC discussed the possible repercussions for Pakistan and the larger region as well as the strategic and security ramifications of US and Israeli activities in Iran.
