A planned public hearing on K-Electric’s proposal to lower April’s electricity pricing by Rs4.69 per unit under the monthly fuel cost adjustment mechanism was postponed by the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) on Monday.
Officials from the Power Division asked for a postponement at the beginning of the hearing, which led to the delay.
Nepra agreed to reschedule the hearing for a week later after receiving the request.
Should this cut be approved, K-E customers could receive a total relief of Rs7.17 billion.
Nepra also said that, in accordance with openness regulations, it will post the letter from the federal government regarding the rate adjustment on its website for public comment.
