The Rs17.573 trillion federal budget for fiscal year 2025–2026 was passed by the National Assembly on Thursday. It provides income tax exemptions for more than 106 organizations nationwide.
The exemptions were given to groups that serve national development, welfare, healthcare, education, and other sectors and are registered as trusts, foundations, or non-profit entities.
According to the finance plan, one important feature is the tax exemption for previous presidents’ or their widows’ pensions.
Tax-exempt status was awarded to important institutions.
Following approval of Finance Bill 2025-26, the following organizations will no longer be subject to income tax:
Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC), WAPDA, and FBR Foundation
SECP, the Privatization Commission, and the Prime Minister’s Special Funds
Aga Khan Development Network, Army Welfare Trust, and Fauji Foundation
