On the first of Muharram-ul-Haram, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced a public holiday throughout the province.
An official notification from the provincial administration states that the decision will take effect when the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee announces the new moon.
All public and private offices, educational institutions, and other departments would be closed on that day, according to the notification.
