By a majority vote on Thursday, the Punjab Assembly passed the Finance Bill 2025–26 and the budget for the fiscal year 2025–26, which totals more than Rs5.3 trillion.
The House approved 41 requests for funds totaling more than Rs4,306 billion in several departments, but it rejected all eight of the opposition’s cut proposals.
The provincial government has set aside more than Rs910 billion for development projects, Rs258 billion for health, Rs137 billion for education, and Rs200 billion for law enforcement.
