On Monday, a massive explosion at a chemical factory in India turned parts of the structure into rubble and left at least 12 people dead and numerous others injured, according to a fire officer.
B Nagehswara Rao, the district fire chief at the scene of the explosion in Sangareddy, in the southern Indian state of Telangana, stated, “We have recovered 12 bodies so far.”
“We are searching through the debris for more bodies.”
Experts attribute India’s high rate of industrial disasters on inadequate planning and a lackadaisical enforcement of safety regulations.
