The interior ministry announced on Sunday that two fugitives wanted by Pakistan in charges including terrorism, murder, and kidnapping for ransom had been apprehended by Spanish authorities after Interpol’s red notice was issued.
The ministry spokeswoman stated that the declared offenders will be turned over to Pakistan following the conclusion of legal procedures. Nawazish Ali Hanjrah, one of the accused, was wanted in 23 instances involving murder, terrorism, kidnapping for ransom, and other offenses.
In addition, Haroon Iqbal became the second fugitive to be apprehended in Spain. According to the statement, Pakistani officials also sought Iqbal in a number of cases.
Following Interior Minister Talal Chaudhry’s recent trip to Spain and meeting with his counterpart Fernando Grande-Marlaska, this development occurred.
