An ally of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC), sought the Supreme Court on Monday to provide a written ruling in the case of the reserved seats that is signed by each of the 12 honorable judges on the highest court bench.
Days earlier, the Supreme Court’s Constitutional Bench had granted review petitions from a majority of seven justices to five, ruling that the party created by Imran Khan was not eligible for seats in the national and provincial assemblies that were designated for women and minorities.
A 10-member panel led by Justice Aminuddin Khan issued the decision on June 27. Thirteen judges of the court initially formed the constitutional bench to hear review petitions.
