Early on Tuesday, a small earthquake rocked Lahore and several areas of Punjab.
The epicentre of the 4.4-magnitude earthquake was situated 25 kilometers south-southwest of Lahore, at coordinates 31.33°N and 74.23°E, and at a depth of 14 kilometers, according to the National Seismic Monitoring Centre (NSMC), Islamabad.
Lahore, Sheikhupura, Okara, Kasur, and other cities experienced tremors. Even though the shaking only lasted a few seconds, people fled their homes and places of employment in a panic.
Rescue and emergency services were vigilant as a precaution, and Pakistan Meteorological Department officials confirmed the seismic activity.
