The music streaming service Spotify said on Friday that Afusic, a rising star in the country’s thriving indie scene, has been chosen as their RADAR artist for the third quarter, bringing Pakistani music back into the international spotlight.
The teenage artist’s viral song Pal Pal, which was released earlier this year, is now prominently included on the music streaming platform’s “RADAR Pakistan” playlist, making this recognition a significant milestone.
Afusic, whose father, Jameel Khan, served as his first inspiration, was born Affan Khan and has been a prominent figure in the local music scene since 2020. The musician has developed a distinctive fan base in an exceptionally brief time by skillfully fusing modern hip-hop and pop elements with traditional South Asian tunes.
