ISLAMABAD: Pakistan said no reliable proof has been provided to support Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s “baseless and unfounded” claims that its citizens were participating in the war in Ukraine. The country firmly rejected the accusations on Tuesday.
A day after President Zelensky threatened to respond to allegations that Ukrainian troops in northeastern Ukraine were engaged in combat with foreign “mercenaries” from China, Pakistan, and regions of Africa, the Foreign Office responded.
North Korea has also contributed thousands of its own troops to Russia’s Kursk region, and Zelensky has previously accused Moscow of enlisting Chinese combatants for its war effort against Ukraine, accusations Beijing has refuted.
