ISLAMABAD: On Thursday, the Supreme Court (SC) granted bail requests made by Imran Khan, the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), in eight instances involving May 9.
After hearing the PTI founder’s appeal against the Lahore High Court’s denial of his bail, a three-member bench led by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Yahya Afridi and consisting of Justices Hasan Azhar Rizvi and Muhammad Shafi rendered the decision.
In separate cases pertaining to the May 9 riots, including the attack on Jinnah House in Lahore, the LHC had denied the bail requests of the imprisoned prime minister back in June.
