According to data issued by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) on Tuesday, the number of people killed by Pakistan’s monsoon rains this year has risen to 802, while over 1,088 others have been injured and about 7,465 homes have been destroyed.
With 479 fatalities, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has reported the most, followed by Punjab (165), Gilgit-Baltistan (45), Sindh (57), Balochistan (24), Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) (24), and Islamabad (8 deaths). There were 480 men, 119 women, and 203 children among the deceased, according to the gender distribution.
584 people were hurt in Punjab, 347 in KP, 75 in Sindh, 45 in GB, 29 in AJK, 5 in Balochistan, and 3 in Islamabad. At least 4,243 homes in KP, 1,642 in AJK, and 1,029 in GB sustained damage.
