Lyudmila Navalnaya said in a video address that she had been taken to a morgue and had signed a death certificate there.
According to the press secretary for the former opposition leader, a medical report that was sent to Ms. Navalnaya said that he passed away naturally.
According to Navalny’s widow, Russian authorities killed him.
Officials were compelled by law to turn over her son’s body, but Lyudmila Navalnaya said she was being “blackmailed” into accepting their refusal. She claimed that the location, time, and mode of her son’s burial were being predetermined by the government.
She continued: “They want to take me to the outskirts of the cemetery to a fresh grave and say: ‘Here lies your son.'”
After learning that her son had passed away six days prior in a nearby prison colony, Ms. Navalnaya made her way to the village of Salekhard in northern Russia.
