Mead and Miedema were forced to miss the Women’s World Cup last year due to ACL injuries they acquired at the end of 2022.
Mead finished top scorer at Euro 2022 with England, earning her the runner-up spot in the Ballon d’Or rankings before her injury.
“There’s a lot of stuff going on behind the scenes that’s great,” she stated.
In a documentary, the Arsenal pair discussed their experiences healing from ACL injuries.
ACL injuries have already sidelined Chelsea’s Sam Kerr and Mia Fishel this season, and Arsenal’s Leah Williamson was one of the prominent players to miss the World Cup due to the same problem.
“There have been numerous ACL injuries since this season and during the World Cup,” Mead continued. Mead is now playing for England on the international team for friendlies against Austria and Italy.
“We released our documentary in an effort to improve its visibility. As a result, we’ve established connections with a few more [people].
Hopefully, instead of just having people complete an online survey that takes ten or fifteen minutes, we can have more information out and more precise data.
