Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced Tuesday, a day after taking oath as the country’s 24th premier, the federal government’s relief package for those affected by the monsoon rains in Gwadar, according to News.
Speaking to the media in the port city of Gwadar, which has been severely impacted by heavy rains in recent days, Shehbaz stated that the government will grant Rs750,000 apiece to people whose homes have been devastated by rain.
Meanwhile, those whose houses were partially damaged would receive Rs350,000 each.
Family members of those who died in the downpour would receive Rs2 million, while those injured would receive Rs500,000 each.
“The [said] amount would be distributed within [the next] four days,” Shehbaz stated, adding that the relief package also applies to areas affected by the rain other than Balochistan.
